Flamingos

Flamingos have long legs and a long neck and can position their head upside-down. Their Body Color is pink and white they usually eat shrimps, algae, crustaceans, Flamingos hold their breath while feeding. This animal can spend 15-30 % of the day in cleaning their feathers.
They live in large groups called colonies. Some colonies consist of million birds. Babies flamingo will hatch in a nest made of mud and don’t have curved beak, it becomes curved after few months. This bird is monogamous and produce one egg each year. To rest Flamingos stand on one leg. The visible “knee” of the flamingo is actually an ankle joint. The real knee is under the feathers. Flamingos live between 20 and 30 years. They live in shallow lakes, mangrove swamps and sandy islands of Africa, Asia, America and Europe.
